Afghanistan Learns Online is an online teaching and learning educational program for young Afghan women in Afghanistan. It is a groundbreaking initiative designed to provide access to education and skills development by Women Leaders of Tomorrow organisation in Canada.

When the Afghan central Republican government collapsed, and the Taliban returned on August 15, 2021, the Taliban immediately shutdown all women’s and girls’ schools.

The young Afghan girls turned to WLOT for support by sending overwhelmingly messages from young Afghan women from Afghanistan seeking for a possibility to have access to education, and learning. WLOT immediately recognized the need, and wanted to accommodate those needs and demands from the young generation of Afghanistan whom will be the future leaders.

In response, Women Leaders of Tomorrow created Afghanistan Learns Online Program to prevent learning and knowledge from collapsing with the government.

The goal of ALO (Afghanistan Learns Online) is to help those Afghan girls’ complete their high schools online, and to receive certificates of completion.

The aim is also to pave the way for these talented individuals to pursue higher education through scholarships and alternative pathways.

The Reason

In Afghanistan, countless young women and girls face daunting barriers to completing their high school education and pursuing dreams of higher learning. Socioeconomic challenges, cultural norms, and no educational opportunities often stand in their way, denying them the chance to fulfill their potential. The Taliban banned education beyond third grade for girls in Afghanistan and shut down all schools for women and girls. Millions of girls are forced to stay at home without access to education. Due to the demand for online educational programs and opportunities by the young Afghan women, whose schools are shut-down by the Taliban, Women Leaders of Tomorrow took the initiative to establish Afghanistan Learns Online.

Our Solution

The Afghanistan Learns Online is committed to breaking down these barriers and empowering young women to unlock their full potential. We offer a comprehensive approach that combines education, mentorship, and scholarship opportunities, providing a clear path to success. Through the ALO program, we offer the following.

English Language
